He is Risen! He is truly Risen!

Abbreviated form adopted from DivineOffice.org:

“So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth, for you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory,”

Col 3:1-4

Today we celebrate Easter Sunday, the Resurrection of the Lord. Let us give thanks for Jesus of Nazareth, our Savior, has Risen!

The day of resurrection! Earth, tell it out abroad;
The Passover of gladness, the Passover of God.
From death to life eternal, from earth unto the sky,
Our Christ hath brought us over, with hymns of victory.

Our hearts be pure from evil, that we may see aright
The Lord in rays eternal of resurrection light;
And listening to his accents, may hear so calm and plain
His own “All hail!” and, hearing, may raise the victor strain.

Now let the heavens be joyful! Let earth the song begin!
Thy round world keep thy triumph, and all that is therein!
Let all things seen and unseen their notes of gladness blend,
For Christ the Lord hath risen, our joy that hath no end.

Words: John of Damascus (ca. 675-749), ca. 750; Translation: John Mason Neale (1818-1866), 1853

Concluding Prayer

O God,
who on this day,
through your Only Begotten Son,
have conquered death
and unlocked for us the path to eternity,
grant, we pray,
that we who keep the solemnity of the Lord’s Resurrection may,
through the renewal brought by your Spirit,
rise up in the light of life.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
— Amen.

May the Lord bless us,
protect us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life.
— Amen.

Happy Easter everyone!

    1. Thank you!!! I took from the Reading of the Office, these are the daily prayers that Catholic priests pray during the day. They are truly beautiful and full of scriptures, readings from the early church fathers and ancient prayers. Thank you for the encouragement and visiting. I hope this easter season may be full of joy and that you may grow closer to Christ!

      God Bless,
